Care Navigators and Social Prescribers

Care Navigators work as part of a team at your GP Surgery and aim to help you and your family/carer access personalised and coordinated care. They can help with referrals to other relevant medical services, ensure care packages happen as they should, signpost beneficial organisations and activities in your area and support you in making sure your needs are met – and much more!

Good Neighbours Network

There are several Good Neighbours Groups throughout the New Forest that will help with some, or all of the following: Hospital & GP transport, other health transport, social transport, shopping, prescription collection, befriending and visiting.

New Forest Disability Information Service

This is a really wonderful local resource which covers the whole of the New Forest. They can provide advice and help with so many of the services that you might need. Their Head Office and Shop is at 6-8 Osborne Road, New Milton, BH25 6AD and their brochure is very informative and well worth reading.

Local British Red Cross

Local Citizens Advice

Free, independent, impartial and confidential advice can be obtained from this organisation on a varied number of subjects. They have offices in Fordingbridge, Hythe, Lymington, Ringwood & Totton.

Blue Badge Scheme

The Blue Badge Scheme is designed to help people with severe mobility problems to park close to shops, public buildings and other places they may wish to visit. The cost of a Blue Badge is £10 and it usually lasts for three years.
